Crime Ring Probe
Two Heathrow traffic wardens have been arrested by police investigating a crime ring at the airports taxi feeder park.
Police were called in after BAA discovered money was missing from the park's computerised payment system. All licensed taxi drivers have to pay a £2.35 administration charge before they can pick up passengers from the ranks at Heathrow's four terminals
Traffic Wardens, employed by the Met Police are responsible for running the the taxi system. Detectives are now trawling through two years worth of of feeder park transaction records in an attempt to discover exactly how much money has been stolen.
It is believed to be in the region of £70,000. The two wardens have been bailed until January and suspended from duty by the Metropolitan Police pending the outcome of the investigation.
